Erin & Thomas’ Wedding at MyMoon BK

Earlier this fall we had the pleasure of working with Erin and Thomas on their Williamsburg based wedding. The couple, who live in the neighborhood, chose the amazing My Moon for their ceremony and reception venue, and everyone got ready at the beautiful Wythe Hotel.

Erin and Thomas came up with a romantic autumnal travel-themed palette for their wedding celebration. The Bride’s family made custom runners to serve as table name, each printed with the name of a different city that the couple had traveled to. The Bride and Groom collected vintage suitcases to serve as the seating card and gift card envelope areas, and featured lots of pictures from their youth and travels, along with TONS of New England desserts and a doughnut cake.

Working off of Erin and Thomas’ invitations (from 49 Designs), I used dark gold geometric accents for decorating dozens of vases, hurricane lamps and votives. To add a bit of drama to the centerpieces, we decided to use vases that were cut from wine bottles (by yours truly), and then added gold toned marks and lines, bringing a little level of detail to the base. Coupled with vintage bud vases, tons of candles, burlap runners and the natural glow of the venue, the overall look was gorgeous and unique.

To welcome their guests, the couple asked me to create a welcome sign to be placed at the My Moon gate. I incorporated lots of design details from the invitation, along with a message from the couple, and gold and sangria colors. The sign was topped with a healthy load of greens, pretty much ensuring that no one missed it!

The flowers that were used included dahlias, anemones, ranunculus, scabiosa seed pods, chinese lanterns, straw flowers, garden roses, thistle, roses, along with accents of rosehips, winter berries, kumquats, wildflowers and sage green eucalyptus leaves (and probably a few others).

It was a pleasure to work with this talented and creative couple. The DIY items were executed perfectly, and I’d consider outsourcing all fabric painting jobs to Erin’s mom in the future! They had a great vision, and I was so happy to be able to help them achieve it.

Congrats guys!
